Based on your request we will defer your enrollment to Spring 2021 and see what situation is at that time – will this be good for you?

JUC Scholarship Award Letter

6 July 2020

Dear Patricia

I am happy to announce that the Scholarship Committee has awarded you a scholarship for the cost of half tuition in an amount not to exceed $3625 (USD) for Fall 2020 based on the number of hours for which you are enrolled at JUC. We pray that the scholarship will be of help and encouragement to you. This award will be credited against your account balance.

Please be advised that this scholarship is contingent upon you maintaining both academic good standing and full-time credits status throughout the semester for which it is awarded. Should your program status change the scholarship award will be adjusted accordingly.

You will be asked at the beginning of next semester to write a thank you letter to the donor of this scholarship in acknowledgment of your award.

Blessings,

Rev. Dr. Paul Wright

Israel: Knesset extended emergency regulations

Dear Tricia,

The essential news from our previous update remains unchanged.

  • Israel’s travel restrictions for foreigners is still in place.
  • JUC is in contact with the Ministry of the Interior so that as soon as they begin to process Student Visa requests (currently no visas are being processed) we will be ready to submit the information for our incoming fall 2020 students.
  • JUC has written a letter to the Ministry of the Interior giving the pertinent information for our continuing students who currently hold valid Israeli student visas requesting that they be allowed into Israel.  The Ministry of the Interior will be passing along this information to the Airport Authority to obtain their authorization for the return of these students in time for the Fall 2020 semester.  If you hold a current Israeli Student Visa, DO NOT purchase a ticket yet as your return to Israel is not confirmed at this point and there may be added steps to take if and when we receive notice of authorization.

This is a statement in The Times of Israel from Wednesday, 17 June…The Knesset voted late Tuesday (16 June) to extend emergency regulations that allow the government to impose coronavirus restrictions on the public as Israel struggles with a resurgence in cases. The previous regulation expired at midnight Monday and the lawmakers voted Tuesday to renew them for an additional 45 days with the high-level coronavirus cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, set to convene Wednesday afternoon to discuss the rise in cases and whether to reimpose certain restrictions.

We pray that God is making himself known to you in special ways during these uncertain times and we trust that as we wait on Him He will renew our strength.  (Is. 40:31).

Until next week…Blessings from Jerusalem,

Diane Wright

Travel & Scholarship Updates

Dear Tricia,
I am writing to all Fall 2020 students, both incoming and returning, to give you an update regarding the Fall Semester at JUC.

JUC is preparing for the fall semester as normal. However, the Israeli government has not yet lifted its temporary travel restriction preventing non-Israelis from entering the country. We do not know when this may be lifted and will make sure to communicate with you as soon as we do.

Our staff in Jerusalem is monitoring the situation on the ground in Jerusalem daily, and as soon as there are any updates, we will let you know.

In the meantime, because it is possible that we may have to delay the start of the semester, please do not purchase your airline tickets yet.

We are receiving updates from the Ministry of Interior regarding the student visa application process. At the moment, the Ministry of Interior has said that they are not processing visa applications until they know when the travel restriction will be lifted. You can expect to hear from us in the first two weeks of July with an update about the visa process.

We trust that things will be clearer in the next few weeks. Just this past week our campus construction projects have been resumed. Those of you who are returning will be glad to know that we are once again in the midst of noise and busy workmen just outside the offices. I hope that when I see you again or meet you for the first time, it will be from the new Reception Area! I will send another update next week. Until then…
Blessings from Jerusalem,
Diane

Welcome Letter

Dear Patricia

I would like to congratulate you on your acceptance to Jerusalem University College for the Fall 2020 semester.

We have just completed a unique semester here at JUC. The COVID-19 virus changed some, but not all, of our day-to-day activities. Our students were able to continue to live and learn together. While there were challenges, our joined response to the situation brought unexpected joys and blessings as well. For instance, we prayed and played together much more this past semester than during a routine semester, and became a stronger community in the process.

We are hopefully anticipating that this difficult season will pass in the coming months.  Our campus is ready and waiting to welcome you in August.

I hope that as you are making plans to study at JUC next fall, you will be filled with expectation and excitement. Whether you are coming to JUC for a semester or longer, you will have an unforgettable, life-changing experience!

Please continue to visit our website at www.juc.edu for answers to many of your questions regarding programs, security concerns, information from students, etc.  If there is anything that I can do to assist your planning, please do not hesitate to contact me.  I am happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have regarding your time at Jerusalem University College.

We are all looking forward to meeting you in August!

Have a great day.
